Activities
Coordinator
In this full time position, you will be
responsible for performing individual activities assessment, developing and
implementing cares plans; coordinating and managing daily therapeutic
activities; maintaining expenditure records; participating in clinical team
meetings. Act as a member of an Inter-disciplinary team approach to patient
care. You must have a B.S or B.A in recreational therapy preferred. A Minimum of
2 years experience in geriatric recreation program; organizational and
creativity skills needed. Bilingual language skills preferred: English,
Portuguese, Spanish, Haitian Creole strongly desired.
Billing Specialist
Full time position available for an individual
to be responsible for performing a variety of clerical activities, primarily
processing health insurance claims. Duties include data entry, preparing and
sending bills, following up and maintaining insurance files and keeping
computerized accounts accurate and current. You will correct claims online and
on paper and/or perform claims adjustments. You must have a High School diploma
or equivalent, and basic knowledge of accounting, computer and data processing
principles. You should be able to analyze patient information and history
Experience in health care billing is desirable. You have good customer service
and communications skills with the ability to relate to clients, vendors and
patients. Full orientation provided.
Certified Coder
Full time or part
time position available for a certified medical coder to be responsible for
accurate coding of services provided to ensure timely reimbursement from third
party payers; auditing claims, record review and general clerical tasks. You
must have excellent computer skills, a high school diploma (or equivalent) and
a coding certificate. A minimum of 2 years experience as a medical coder in a
health care facility is also required.
Dental Director
Main responsibilities include
providing direct dental care to patients, supervising and evaluating
professional and paraprofessional staff and identifying, screening and
recommending for hire appropriate candidates for new or open positions within
the Dental Department. You will participate in the development of short range
and long range dental service plans and objectives and establish and maintain
professional standards for the dental clinic including those established by MDPH.
You will also be responsible for staff scheduling, ordering dental supplies and
managing the maintenance program for dental equipment. You will follow UCHC
Policies and Procedures including Quality Assurance and administrative protocols
and undertake general professional and administrative duties. You will have a
doctoral degree in Dentistry, three to five years of dental experience and one
year of general administrative or supervisory experience is preferred. You will
need a full MA license to practice dentistry. Computer literacy is a plus.
Dentist
Full time and part-time positions available
for a licensed (MA) Dentist with a minimum of two years of general dentistry
experience serving children and adults The successful candidate will become part
of a multi disciplinary team of dentists, physicians and other professionals and
paraprofessionals providing health and social providing services to grateful
patients in an urban setting responsibilities will include: preventive and
restorative dentistry; appliances and denture preparation; quality insurance and
some administrative tasks. Full orientation provided.
Dental Assistant
Full time position available for a trained
Dental Assistant. You will assist the Dentists during examination and treatment
of patients, including preparing patients for dental procedures and arranging
dental instruments, materials and medications in the order they are to be
used. In addition, you will be responsible for preparing, maintaining, cleaning
and sterilizing dental instruments. You will also aid in taking, developing and
mounting x-rays and record keeping and billing duties. Provide translation
services for patients. You must have a minimum of a high school diploma or
G.E.D and good communication skills and be trained in a dental assistant. The
ability to speak English and Spanish or Portuguese is required. Full orientation
provided.
Director of Behavioral Health
Oversee the operations of the entire
department. The Director develops and recommends goals and objectives for the
department and prepares and implements policies and procedures. The Director
assesses performance in relation to goals and recommends and is responsible for
hiring, scheduling, supervising and assigning department staff. S/he must
orient, train and guide staff in clinical methods and make recommendations for
personnel actions. The Director also sees clients and evaluates referred
patients and provides all treatment modalities as appropriate to children,
adolescents and adults. In addition s/he develops community contacts and
cooperative networks as necessary to develop programs that meet the needs of
patients and the community. The Director reviews all case histories and
prepares statistics and reports as requested by the Executive Director. S/he
ensures correct billing of third party payors as appropriate for services
rendered as well as eligibility of patients for reimbursement of services.
The Director is required to have a Master’s
Degree in Social Work and have LICSW licensing with at least five years of
medical or psychiatric social work experience and two years of supervisory or
management experience. S/he should be committed to community-based mental health
care. Bilingual preferred.
Health Advocate (Youth Worker)
Provide youth outreach education in Dorchester
community. HS diploma or equivalent & youth experience required. Bilingual in
English and Spanish. . Some evenings and weekends.
Home Care Nurse Liaison - Elder Service
Plan
You will assess, coordinate and implement home
care needs and services; coordinate discharge planning; develop home service
care plans; conduct clinical orientation and coordinate home health aides
services; perform episodic skilled nursing visits and work in an
inter-disciplinary team to support frail elders in the community. You must be a
Registered Nurse with a BS degree and licensed in Massachusetts with a minimum
of 1 year’s experience working with the elderly and experience in discharge
planning and community nursing is desirable. Bi-lingual skills (English and
Spanish) are advantageous and you must have a car.
Home Health Aide
Under the direction of the Registered Nurse or
Therapist, you will assist clients with personal care and activities of daily
living. You will provide services in the client’s home. This is a part–time role
with flexible hours. You must have completed a 75-hour homemaker/Home Health
Aide Training Program or 24 hour Abbreviated Program as required by the
Massachusetts Department of Public Health. A minimum of one year’s relevant
experience, including care of ill or disabled elders, home management and meal
preparation is required. You must have the ability to clearly communicate
verbally and in writing and bilingual skills are ideal.
Medical Assistant
Full time position available for a medical
assistant in our busy community health center’s Primary Care Service. You will
provide excellent customer service to patients, health center staff and outside
agencies and provide quality care to patients by working as a team member within
specific team and across the health center. Responsibilities will include client
intake, vital signs, translation, sterilizing instruments, stocking rooms, form
preparation and assisting providers. You must be a certified MA with high school
diploma or GED and one year’s experience preferred, ideally in ambulatory care.
Good people skills and good computer skills required. The ability to speak a
second language
(such as Spanish, Portuguese or Cape Verdean
Creole) is preferred
Medical Director
Plan, initiate and maintain quality standards
for patient care in all clinical areas. Provide patient care services in given
specialty. Recommend and initiate approved clinical programs to meet community
healthcare needs; Recruit, screen, hire and orient providers; provide necessary
in-service education; evaluate work performance; accountable for supervising all
medical providers directly or through subordinates; Provide professional liaison
with outside facilities for provision of patient care, teaching/training
programs, and demonstration research projects; Perform medical audit of cases
managed by other providers; serve as back-up, provide clinical supervision of
midlevel practitioners and other providers in diagnosing illness, setting up
treatment plans, handling problems and hospitalizing patients; Participate in
such administrative meetings and undertake such other administrative duties in
the health center required to ensure effective medical administration and
effective liaison with the general administrative operations of the health
center. Qualifications: Requires Doctorate in Medicine, Board eligible or
certified in a primary care specialty. Must have up to five years of experience
as a provider, preferably in a primary care facility.
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
(Senior Care Options Program)
The successful candidate will join an
innovative elder care program - Senior Care Options. This is a part time
position providing comprehensive clinical care and case management for well and
frail elders. You will join a mission-driven inter-disciplinary team that has
been granted flexibility and autonomy. Responsibilities include: initial health
assessments, follow-up care, health education, home visits, case management and
related administrative tasks. You must be a certified N.P. or P.A. with a
minimum of one year of experience in adult medicine or geriatrics medicine.
Electronic medical record experience helpful. The ability to speak Spanish or
Portuguese would be helpful but not necessary...
Nurse Practitioner (PACE Program)
This is a full time position available for a
Massachusetts certified N.P. with a minimum of two years experience in adult
medicine or geriatrics. The successful candidate will join a program
implementing an innovative model of comprehensive community based care for frail
elders. Must have strong leadership, interpersonal, teaching, and organizing
skills. You will be responsible for initial health assessments, follow-up care,
health education, home visits, case management and some administrative tasks.
Car required. Full orientation provided.
Nurse Supervisor
Full time (flexible hours) position available
for a nurse manager with a minimum of an Associates Degree (BSN preferred) to
provide supervision, training and orientation to RNs and LPNs in our Primary
Care department. You will spend about 70% of your time in direct care and 30% in
supervision. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining staff schedules,
assisting in providing oversight and monitoring of patient flow, triage of
walk-in patients and telephone calls. Also, you will be responsible for ordering
medical supplies and pharmaceuticals. You will participate in quality assurance
audits and in the hiring, disciplinary, evaluation and termination process of
nurses; and perform other related professional and administrative tasks as
required. You are a MA licensed Registered Nurse with a minimum of three years’
ambulatory or community nursing and 1 years’ supervisory experience. Full
orientation provided.
Nutritionist (Maternal/Child)
Full-time position available to provide, plan,
direct and perform individual and group counseling in therapeutic and normal
nutrition practices. Conduct educational programs in the community. Motivate
patients in correct nutrition practices to alleviate or control medical
conditions. Teach groups of overweight children and family members in exercise
and nutrition. Foster community involvement in improved nutrition for pediatric
population members. You must have a BS in nutrition, Food Science, Public
Health Nutrition or related major and be registered by the American Dietetic
Assoc; or MS in Public Health Nutrition, Community Nutrition, or Human Nutrition
from an accredited institution. Up to three years of community experience with
sensitivity to client population is preferred. Ideal candidate has clinical and
counseling experience in a community setting. Bilingual English/Spanish and/or
Portuguese Creole helpful but not necessary.
Optometrist
A part-time position with flexible hours is
available for an individual with a D.O degree, Mass license in Optometry and two
years relevant experience. You will provide optometric services to patients in
a diverse community health center, including ordering prescribed lenses and
frames, adjusting and fixing eyeglass frames and hinges as appropriate and
following clinical protocols. One to two evening and one to two Saturday morning
sessions per month may be required. The ability to speak a second language, such
as Spanish or Cape Verdean Creole is preferred.
Physical and Occupational Therapist
Part time positions available (flexible
schedule) for licensed physical and occupational therapist with 2 to 3 years
working with the elderly or chronically ill, cognitively impaired or frail
geriatric population. Responsibilities will include collaboration on patient
care plans with physicians and direct patient care. Educating patients and
their families as well as staff in on treatment plans, home evaluations, and
participating in clinical team meetings. A car is required for these roles.
Primary Care Physician
Full time position is available for a board
eligible or certified Internist or Family Practice Physician with a minimum of
two years experience. MA license required. The ability to speak a second langue
would be helpful but not necessary. Responsibilities will include: initial
health assessments; follow up care, health education, supervision on NP/Pas,
hospital rounding and some clerical tasks. Full orientation provided.
Psychiatrist (part time)
Perform psychiatric evaluations and mental
status examinations. Make referrals as appropriate for the evaluation of
non-psychiatric, physical health problems. Assume responsibility for the
prescribing and monitoring of all medications. Conduct medication follow-up for
all patients evaluated (unless the psychiatric evaluation is for consultation).
Maintain case reports and record keeping in
compliance with department and licensing regulations. Participate in quarterly
reviews, utilization reviews and quality assurance activities. Participate in
the Guidance and Counseling multidisciplinary team meetings.
Provide consultation for department staff and
in-house providers as needed. Board certified in Psychiatry in the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts; and Board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and
Neurology, or eligible for such certification
RN- Quality Assurance Manager
Adult/geriatric/family registered nurse with
Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement experience.
Social Worker
– Adolescent Health
You will coordinate the social service needs of
adolescent patients in the Teen Clinic by providing counseling and concrete
services and outreach into the community. You will also compile
information and resources for adolescents and families in Dorchester that is
culturally diverse and appropriate for individuals within various ethnic groups.
This position will also provide
counseling, concrete social services and case management to individuals,
couples, family and groups to patients referred to
Behavioral
Health by PCP.
You must have a Masters in Social Work with a
current LCSW or LICSW license and be an experienced clinician with a minimum of
1 year working in a multicultural community setting. Previous work with
adolescent population and bi-lingual
skills (English and one of Spanish, Portuguese or Portuguese Krioli) are
advantageous. Familiarity with Dorchester, the surrounding community and local
youth and family resources preferred
Social Services Manager
The Manager develops and recommends goals and
objectives for the department and prepares and implements policies and
procedures. The Manager is also responsible for the delivery of Social Services
to the Primary Care, Urgent Care, Teen Clinic and OB/GYN Departments. The
Manager is responsible for hiring, scheduling, supervising and assigning
department staff. S/he must orient, train and guide staff in social services
methods as well as to evaluate staff performance and make recommendations for
personnel actions. The Manager also sees clients and evaluates referred
patients and provides case management, concrete services, crises intervention,
domestic violence referrals, advocacy, as needed by children, adolescents and
adults. Provide psychosocial assessments and therapy to individuals, couples,
family and groups. The Manager also reviews all case histories, schedules
provider casework and team conferences and prepares statistics and reports as
requested by the Executive Director/CEO.
The Manager is required to have a Master’s
Degree in Social Work and have LCSW or LICSW licensing with at least three years
of medical or psychiatric social work experience. S/he should be committed to
community service. Bilingual in Spanish helpful, but not required. Computer
literacy required.
Staff Nurse – Home Care
Positions available with flexible hours for an
adult/geriatric/family Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner in our Home Care
Program caring for inner-city, frail elders and HIV infected individuals. The
successful candidate will become part of a multi-disciplinary team of nurses,
social workers, physicians, therapists and home health aides. Responsibilities
include health assessment, patient/family education and follow up care. Car
required. You must be a Registered Nurse with MA license and one year’s
experience.
